Haute Handbags

Standard

Right before Thanksgiving, I received the most wonderful news.  One of my bags has been chosen to appear in the Spring/Summer 2012 edition of Haute Handbags!  Take a look in the spring and tell me what you think. 🙂

In the meantime, I can’t wait to get busy sewing bags again.  It’s been WAY too long!  Once again, sew many ideas, so little time.  I know you can relate…

About Anny

I am happiest during the creative phase of bag making. My studio is in a downtown historical loft built in 1890 with a view of the harbor. I have an armoire full of beautiful fabric and a map chest full of buttons, fringe, beads, and all the little pretties that make a bag one-of-a-kind. Every time I sew, my faithful Golden Retriever and English Setter are at my feet, and on REALLY special days, my precious granddaughters sew with me!

  1. Your friend Cindy Fisher suggested I contact you. I am a co-worker at CB&I and a man who loves to sew.

I enjoy making handbags and kilts and have sold a few to friends and acquaintances. My sewing experience began at the young age of 12 now 50 years later I still enjoy it.

Where specifically is the garment district in NYC? The experiences on you blog have encouraged me to make the trip with my wife this year.

If you are in the Woodlands I’m sure Cindy would introduce me to you. I would like to show you some of my work.

    • Pleased to meet you! I live quite far from the Woodlands but Quakertown Quilts in the Woodlands sells my bag pattern. In answer to your Garment District question, it falls mainly between 34th and 42nd streets between 6th and 9th Avenues. The needle in the the button scuplture is located at 39th and 7th Avenue where I understand there’s an information kiosk. We found a lot of shops on 39th, but trust me, they’re all over that area. Good talking with you!
